The Green wave continues to rise. With a new Socialist leadership, cut-through media, and record highs in polling and membership, we’re building momentum to prove that The Green Party can take up the mantle of Left wing politics in Britain. Greens Organise has been instrumental in driving these welcome developments. Yet it is clear that building a strong, anti-capitalist Green Party internally isn’t enough: we need to look beyond electoralism to growing our movement.
Fascism and climate breakdown pose an imminent threat to the social fabric and wellbeing of our communities and planet. To deal with these threats, we must grow a movement that not only builds links between labour, social, and environmental groups, but that organises for change in, for, with, and alongside our communities.
Our panel brings together activists speaking to this critical convergence, to explore their work on the ground, cross-connections across movements, and how to build a Green Party that goes beyond elections and builds something new in Brighton & Hove – and beyond.
